CHILDBIRTH CLASS SERIES
The Balanced Mama approach to childbirth education prepares families physically, mentally, and emotionally for birth and postpartum, as well as empowering them with evidence-based knowledge.
Physical Preparation
Preparing the pregnant body for birth through simple strengthening and balancing exercises can make a difference in the length and difficulty of your labor! As a Spinning Babies Aware Practitioner, this is information and technique Cora is very familiar with, believes in, and LOVES to share! Discussion, demonstration and practice of simple Spinning Babies techniques are a cornerstone of Balanced Mama's childbirth classes.
Mental & Emotional Preparation
We believe that knowledge of the birthing process, all of your options for labor and delivery, and evidence-based information on pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are all ways that our childbirth classes prepare you for birth and parenthood. Knowledge is power!
Postpartum Readiness
Realistic expectations and knowledge of breastfeeding basics, your baby's behavior, and your physical and emotional recovery timeline are all valuable as you navigate the first days and weeks of postpartum.
This class is small, informal, friendly, and fun! Classes are 2 hours long, once a week, for 6 weeks. The cost is $250.

BIG BLUE BLANKET & BALANCED BREASTFEEDING

YOGA
We offer several types of prenatal yoga, designed to prepare your body and your mind for birth.
Our postpartum yoga offerings are designed to help you reconnect with your body, gently move and stretch, and find community with other parents.
We also offer community classes- no need to be pregant or postpartum! Join us for Sunrise Yoga with a gorgeous balcony view!
Big Blue Blanket
Hosted by Desiree, a full-spectrum doula (birth, bereavement, and postpartum), and an Advanced Lactation Consultant. Rooted in Desiree's own postpartum experience, Big Blue Blanket is a symbol of a place to find some peace, honesty, friendship, shared experience and support. It’s a place to be honest about how utterly magnificent and utterly horrible the first few months of parenting can be. A place of non-judgemental acceptance and support.
BBB meets every Wednesday at 2pm. Our time consists on checkins, baby admiring/brags/vents, and a discussion topic, special guest, or activity.
Class is pay-what-you-wish, and there's no need to sign up... just bring yourself and your baby!
Balanced Breastfeeding
a.k.a. the Tits Out Club is a perfect blend of peer and professional support. In one stop, you can get a quick check in on latch progress, get help with a weighted feed, or get advice on pumping with Lactation Consultant Desiree, and also crowd source ideas on sleep solutions, favorite pumps, and how to keep your toddler from destroying the house while you feed the baby from other breastfeeding moms!
Tits Out Club meets every Monday at 2pm. Cost is $15, but no need to sign up in advance.
